Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award is a world record award being the World's Biggest Children's Literature Award. Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award prize money is US$ 660,000 or EUR 473,000 or 5,000,000 (Five Million) SEK.
The Tamer Institute, kaking Kid and youth strong in reading, was presented Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award in short ALMA by Swedish H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria in a dignified function at Stockholm Concert Hall. The ALMA award ceremony was held on 02 June 2009.
ALMA honours authors, illustrators, oral storytellers and promoters of reading working in the spirit of Astrid Lindgren. The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA), the world's largest prize for children's and young people's literature, was instituted in memory of the Swedish author Astrid Lindgren.
