Rapid Introduction of Carbon Capture Storage Process is Crucial, Says Professor Jeffery D. Sachs

At Vattenfall's Energy and Climate Conference in Stockholm Jeffery D. Sachs, professor of sustainable development at Columbia University emphasised the importance of Carbon Capture Storage (CSS) technology and the need to speed up its implementation.

The carbon capture and sequestration technology in coal-fired power plants was described by Mr Sachs as 'a major promise for the world as a way to combine continued economic development in coal-based economies like China and India, with environmental sustainability'.
