Sweden Celebrates Global Wind Day

Organized by European Wind Energy Association, EWEA and the Global Wind Energy Council, GWEC, the aim of Global Wind Day is to draw attention to wind power in the run-up to the climate negotiations in Copenhagen in December 2009.

Activities including exhibitions, forums, wind farms tours and other awareness raising initiatives are taking place throughout the world on June 15.

Sweden's largest event for Wind Day 2009 is the Wind Power Exhibition at Stockholm's Central Station. Throughout the country over 20 wind farm owners have opened their facilities to the public.
